R2D2 - Hallway

A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away...
This project marks a special chapter in my journey as a designer. It was the first time I was able to turn my passion for 3D design into a profession.
When I started working at grundform, I had little industry experience – but a lot of enthusiasm. For my very first personal project, I chose a universe that has always inspired me: Star Wars.
Out of all the iconic characters, I picked R2-D2 – the loyal little droid who never loses sight of his goal, even in the most hopeless situations.
Years later, with more experience under my belt, I revisited the model. I completely redid the UVs and retextured it in Substance Painter(UDIM), finally giving R2-D2 the level of detail and attention he truly deserves.
Note: The video still shows the original version of the model, created at the very beginning of this project. The updated version reflects the progress I’ve made as a 3D artist since then.
